Using Essential Oils in the Bath

Updated: Sep 25, 2019

You can't get to sleep, you're having late night cravings, or maybe it's just one of those days where stress is unavoidable. It might be time for some well deserved self care and a bath might be just the ticket!

Using essential oils in the bath has many benefits such as soothing the skin, calming the mind and even improving circulation. We like to call the whole experience a ritual or even a bathing meditation.

Before you add your essential oils you want to make sure they are 100% pure therapeutic grade. Our favorite and most trusted brand is doTERRA. Not only are you getting the purest form of oils, but you are supporting a sustainable company that protects our dear Mother Earth and gives back.

Some of our favorite bath time oils are:

Rose- Supports all skin types, is calming, and gently uplifts without being too stimulating

Vetiver- Brings moisture to dry skin and an overall feeling of peace to the mind; In India it is called "the oil of tranquility"

Lavender- Soothes stressed, irritated skin and can help with insomnia

So go ahead- light some candles, fill your tub up with warm water (not too hot as it may dehydrate the skin), add your oils, and let your tensions slip away.

(Tip: Add your oils to a half cup of olive oil or mix them with epsom salt to prevent evaporation due to hot water)
